The Highlands and Islands of Scotland are situated to the North and West of the Highland boundary fault, which runs from Arran in the southwest to Stonehaven in the Northeast, and encompasses 39 inhabited islands off its northern and western coasts. A hardy and resourceful people, the Scottish Highlanders have become world renowned for high quality products.
